Thank you Ruth! I have spent the terminal ii days acouring the internet to find each of these solutions. I ahould have stopped hither and asked get-go considering this is the nigh coherent well laid out answer that anyone has provided! Give thanks yous.

Unfortunately, none of these solutions take worked for me and I have washed them on both computers in question. I have granted total access and permissions to the unmarried user too as full access to everone on the network. Neither worked. I disabled the firewalls to no avail. I have updated the network settings on both computers as stated in tour last footstep. None of this helped.

I also saw online that possibly the encryption was an issueso I switched that just it didnt aid either.

The weird thing is I was able to ready the drive up and access it fine for well-nigh a week and then all of a sudden the w10 figurer can no longer connect to the file. I cant observe where whatsoever of the sertings inverse between those two weather.

I tried the suggested set and I likewise did not become anywhere, specifically considering I had no "Owner" Tab. SOOOOO I played around and got it working by doing the following:

1. Correct-click the Public folder and select Properties.

2. Click the Sharing tab in Public Properties. This volition open the File Sharing window for the Public folder.

3. Using the pull downwardly card (where it says "Type a name and click add, or click the pointer to find someone" , select Everyone.

4. Click Add

5. Select the appropriate permission level (I chose Read/Write).

6. Click Share.

After a few minutes, Information technology may ask if yous desire to do the same with other public folders like music and videos. I chose yeah, but you can choose whatever yous want. Afterward that it worked for me.
